A Serious Note Before You Use Any Of This
Everything in this guide reflects our own family's experience and research, not medical or dietary advice. I manage a gluten-free diet for an autoimmune condition, and my husband has a gluten intolerance. Neither of us has celiac disease, and neither of us has a high level of physical reactivity to cross-contamination the way some people with celiac disease do. What worked for us may not be safe for you.
If you have celiac disease, a severe allergy, or any condition where cross-contamination is a real medical risk, treat everything here as a starting point for your own research, not a substitute for it. Restaurant staff, ingredients, and preparation methods can change without notice, and what was safe for us on a given day at a given restaurant is not a guarantee of safety for anyone else, including us, on a different day.
Please speak directly with cooks, restaurant staff, or servers about your specific needs before eating anywhere, every time, regardless of what we or anyone else has written about a place. When in doubt, don't eat it, and consult a doctor or dietitian for guidance specific to your own health.
