Tickets: Buy Online to Save
General admission is about $27 per person when you buy online (including the booking fee), and it's a few dollars more at the gate. Kids 2 and under are free. Your ticket covers most of the activities on the farm, and a season pass is also available if you plan to go more than once.
We bought our tickets online ahead of time. It saved a few dollars per person and was easy to do. A few things we learned buying for a group of 10:
You get one QR code for the whole group. When we arrived, the staff member scanning our code checked off the names of everyone who was there and unchecked the people who weren't there yet.
Late arrivals can use a screenshot. We sent the QR code to the rest of our group, and they scanned in with a screenshot when they got there.
Sign the waivers ahead of time. Waivers are emailed to you after you buy. The group check-in only works if everyone's waiver is signed, so fill them out for your whole group before you go.

Bonfires
On Friday and Saturday nights, Denver Downs lights bonfires near the main stage shortly after sunset (except opening weekend), weather permitting. Most of the 15 or so fire spots are first come, first served, and they fill up. To guarantee one, you can reserve a bonfire for up to 10 people from 6 to 10 PM. Reserve by noon on the Thursday before your visit, and arrive by 6:30 PM or your spot may be given away. Everyone still needs general admission, reservations are non-refundable, and s'mores kits are sold on site.
Food: Funnel Cakes, Kettle Corn, and S'mores
Denver Downs has six concession areas spread around the farm: the Kettle Corn Barn, the Silo Canteen, Barnyard BBQ in the Picnic Barn, the Sweet Shack, the Corn Dog Shack, and the Funnel Cake Barn. Treats include s'mores, funnel cake, cotton candy, fresh lemonade, and kettle corn. There are drinks for the grown-ups too, like the apple mimosas some of our group tried and liked.
Visiting Denver Downs Gluten-Free
Most of the treats here, like funnel cakes and corn dogs, aren't gluten-free. Here's what worked for us:
Bring your own snacks. Snacks are allowed inside, so it's easy to pack safe options for gluten-free kids.
Try the lemonade. We loved the fresh lemonade.
Ask about the kettle corn. We had the kettle corn, but check the ingredients and how it's made before eating it if you're gluten-free.
Our Visit: A Rain-Free Saturday Morning
We arrived at 10 AM on a Saturday with rain in the forecast. Lucky for us, it never showed up, and we think the forecast helped keep the crowds down. One heads-up: a sign at the entrance says there are no refunds for weather, so check the forecast before you buy.
You enter through the gift shop. If you need to run back to your car (like we did for a forgotten water bottle), they'll stamp your hand on the way out, and you show the stamp to get back in.
The kids had a blast. The zipline was probably the highlight. The mega slide was fun too, but the kids have to drag their tubes back to the top each time, and after a few runs it got tiring for them. They also loved the play areas, especially the obstacle course, the jumping pillow and the big tunnel slide, and we all enjoyed watching the pig races, which run at different times throughout the day.
Jackson's favorite moment was picking out his "grumpy pumpkin," named for all the bumps and lumps on it. He proudly set it on our porch as soon as we got home.
We left around 1 PM and still didn't get to everything. We ran out of time for the corn maze this year, but we've done it in years past. It's challenging, but there have been clues and a map to help you find your way. The kids were exhausted but had so much fun they didn't want to leave, and we're already planning to come back later this fall.
Tips for Visiting Denver Downs With Kids
Buy tickets online. It saves a few dollars per person, and one QR code covers your whole group.
Sign waivers before you go. They're emailed after you buy, and group check-in goes faster when everyone's done.
Check the forecast. There are no weather refunds, but a rainy forecast can mean lighter crowds if the rain holds off.
Arrive early on Saturdays. We got there at 10 AM, stayed about three hours, and still didn’t get to everything.
Hang on to your hand stamp. It's how you get back in if you leave for the car.
Strollers work fine. We had a baby in a stroller in our group. You're pushing over grass and some gravel, but it's manageable, and it's a great place to stash water bottles, jackets, and snacks.
Bring snacks and a diaper bag. Both are allowed inside.
Wear shoes that can get dirty. You're on a working farm with a corn maze and animal areas.
Bring hand sanitizer or wipes. You'll use them after the petting zoo and before snacks.
Save the pumpkin for last. Buy it on the way out so you don't have to carry it around the farm.
Bringing the dog? Dogs are welcome on a leash for $10 each. We'd make sure your dog is comfortable with crowds, farm animals, and lots of kids first.
Is Denver Downs Worth It?
Absolutely. We've seen people say the ticket price is steep, but with everything included, we think it's very reasonable. There's so much to do that even on busy days it doesn't feel too crowded, and the farm is well staffed, so lines for activities move quickly. We got lucky with lighter crowds this year, but we'd happily go back on a busy day too.
