Gluten-Free Bonaire: Every Restaurant We Ate At (Honest Family Reviews)
Here's every restaurant we actually ate at during our week in Bonaire, reviewed honestly, gluten-free notes included. Some were reservations we planned around, others were casual stops between snorkel sites.
A quick note on how we eat: I eat gluten-free to manage an autoimmune condition, and Matt is gluten intolerant. Neither of us has celiac disease or reacts strongly to small amounts of cross-contamination. So please treat our experience as a starting point for your own dietary needs, not the final word. If you have celiac disease or a severe sensitivity, always talk to the restaurant directly before you order.

Van den Tweel Supermarket
We came here several times for breakfast items and snacks, which we cooked and ate at our resort thanks to the kitchenette. The gluten-free selection was genuinely good, easily the best grocery store gluten-free options we found on the island.
Kite City Food Truck
This was excellent, easily one of our favorite meals of the trip, and we ate here twice. Both times we got the fresh fish on gluten-free wraps, once wahoo and once tuna. The fish changes depending on what's fresh, so ask what they have that day. Bring cash just in case. It's right on Te Amo Beach near the airport, so it's an easy stop on your way in or out of Kralendijk, and you can swim before or after lunch.
Fresh fish on gluten-free wraps!
Sebastian’s
A nice restaurant on the waterfront in Kralendijk, where we had a sunset dinner right on the pier. If you want a pier table, book as early as you can. Seating out there is limited, and everyone wants those seats. Jackson loved eating out over the water. The food itself was okay, nothing that blew us away, but the drinks were great. Go for the setting and the sunset as much as the meal. There are gluten-free options on the menu, but cross-contamination may be an issue, so let your server know.

Hang Out Beachbar
We ate here, but there weren’t a lot of gluten-free options, so we mostly just had a salad and raw fish. This was another spot where the vibe carried the visit more than the food. It’s a casual, fun spot right on Lac Bay at Sorobon with lots of windsurfers around, and Jackson could swim while we ate. Worth a stop for the atmosphere, just don’t go in expecting a big gluten-free menu. It's on the opposite side of the island from Kralendijk, so you'll need a car to get here.

Rum Runners
A great gluten-free pizza spot, and we really loved it here. The restaurant sits right over the water at Captain Don's Habitat in Hato, just north of Kralendijk, and we were able to watch the lights of night divers under the surface while we ate, a genuinely memorable dinner setting. If you're gluten-free and craving pizza in Bonaire, this is the place. Just know it isn't a dedicated gluten-free kitchen.
We cannot resist a gluten-free pizza, as you can tell!
Daily Catch Fisherman’s Market
So good. Yummy fresh fish, simple and well done. A great casual lunch stop if you want something quick and reliably fresh between activities. There's no dedicated gluten-free menu, but they have raw fish and sashimi options.
Fresh catch at Daily Catch.
Eddy’s Restaurant
Lots of gluten-free options here, which made it an easy, low-stress dinner. One practical tip: bring bug spray. The mosquitoes were awful during our visit, and it's worth planning for. The menu leans Colombian with international dishes mixed in. It's not a dedicated gluten-free kitchen.

Luciano
Handmade Italian ice cream with gluten-free options, right on the waterfront at Terramar in Kralendijk. There's a second location in Hato. We went several times. It's not a dedicated gluten-free facility.
An affogato at Luciano.
Posada Para Mira
We had lunch during Christmas week at Posada Para Mira, up in the hills near Rincon. They had a Christmas buffet with the gluten-free dishes marked, which made it a stress-free holiday meal. There was a swing set right there, so Jackson played while we finished eating. It's a great stop on a national park day, too.

Pizza Mare
A casual pizza spot in Kralendijk with plenty of gluten-free options, including pizza, pasta, salads, fries, and panna cotta. The servers were very friendly, and our gluten-free pepperoni pizza was good. It's not a dedicated gluten-free kitchen.
Here we go again with the pizza…
Cooking Our Own Catch
One of our favorite meals of the trip didn't come from a restaurant at all. We fried up the fish we caught on our fishing charter with Bonaire Fish Things right in our room's kitchenette, using ingredients from Van den Tweel. Cooking it ourselves meant we controlled exactly what went into it, which made it one of the easiest gluten-free meals of the week. If you're planning a charter, a room with a kitchen makes this possible.

Drinks at Chogogo
We're suckers for a frozen drink in hand by a resort pool or on the beach. Matt and I loved the piña coladas and daiquiris at Chogogo, and Jackson got his daiquiris virgin, which made him feel like he was right in on the fun.

Gluten-Free Tips for Bonaire
Ask about shared fryers and prep areas if cross-contamination matters for you. None of the places we ate had dedicated gluten-free kitchens.
Book a room with a kitchenette. Grocery breakfasts saved us a lot of stress (and money).
Plan around a car. Our favorite spots were spread across the island, from Hato to Lac Bay.
Bring bug spray for outdoor dinners.
Our Honest Take
If we had to pick favorites, Kite City Food Truck and Rum Runners were our two best meals, and both happened to be easy for gluten-free eating too. Van den Tweel and our resort's kitchenette did a lot of quiet heavy lifting for breakfasts all week, nd Posada Para Mira made our park day lunch easy. Sebastian's and Hang Out Beachbar were both more about the setting than the food. They're still worth it, just adjust your expectations.
